I love my comedies to be un-pc. I like them to be like the real world, Caan is great in the roll and Lawson is the great conflicted daughter.
Out of the comedy pilots this is the only one to make me laugh, which is a horrible sign for the others.
As we grow we learn, i have learned that if you don't like me grow up or ignore me.
I didn't like the name of the show nor the baseball premise, but I did enjoy the writing. I found myself laughing in the middle of the pilot without really understanding why, but some of the setups were very funny. As long as they keep the quirky jokes without getting too camp, I think it will get better.
I do hope they don't push the precocious children doing all their dumb one-liner-im-smarter-than-adults jokes that tends to happen when shows use children casts. Take some inspiration from Malcolm in the Middle and keep the kids dumb, but unintentionally clever.
I'm excited to see how it moves forward.
The only thing i didn't like was the token black friend. The writers have no used for her and she is only there because she is black. Give her some major story other than she is rich. Yes the only way she gets into a scene is by pulling out alcohol at a baseball game and offering to pay for the equipment. Her accent also does my head in.
I'm a fan of baseball, James Caan and Maggie Lawson and so this is really the show for me.
