how did it end?
while the final episodes are available through amazon and torrent, i'm probably not going to go to the extend of finding them. how did this show end? i heard there is introduction of a new character and storyline.
i liked this show, but could tell it was doomed from the beginning. not only because of the network it aired on, but for two key reasons: shows based on movies rarely survive, and the cannon's character. for me, james caan made the show and i really enjoyed how his character was written, but gratuitously mean leads don't test well with viewers. chloe from apt 23 was the downfall for that show, because a fun sociopath can hold up the series, but being progressively more and more awful towards others makes a protag unlikeable and in a show that doesn't use an ensemble cast (a la modern family), it can make it unwatchable, unless you enjoy that type of humor.
true, the ratings were better than many other shows in its genre or timeslot, but the pacing got really bad toward the end of each episode as they resolved the main story arc and started to falter in its comic delivery. every sitcom always has a lesson the characters will learn through more serious scenes, but this show got downright hokey and slow because the tone changed so much.
there is obviously zero hope for renewal (or revival) for this show. so i'm curious to know how it all played out. did the angles ever win a game? did the boy get with the girl? did the cannon grow a soul or check into rehab?
