But who was this film supposed to appeal to? It's anime and horrible writing. I know some people enjoy this style of animation or else it wouldn't have been made. I get that. I just like my superheroes to fight a little fewer tentacles and have a little more of a plot. Why release this? I'd be curious to know if anyone enjoyed this. I'll keep my responses civil. I can respect other opinions.

Uhm, it was made for the Japanese by the Japanese. It received an English language dub to make it more accessible to English speakers but ultimately it's a Japanese film. If you don't like this kind of stuff you're probably best off avoiding most things that are distinctly Japanese unless you hear really good things about them first.
