Michelle Yeoh looks awesome for 53. Can she still fight like before?

She's a little older, but I guess 53 won't be too old for her to kick butt again. Too bad Zhang Ziyi and Chow Yun Fat won't be in it, but who needs them when you've got Yeoh and Donnie Yen?

Which one will be the standout this time?

She is great. She will kick a lot of butts. I just can't believe after all these years this movie finally came out...

reply

Yeah why would they wait so long? But actually the director is different this time

reply

different director but he worked on the first one as action choreographer so he knows what he's doing

I used to be indecisive. Now, I'm not so sure.

reply

Yes... it is not Ang anymore, but the new director is the same fight choreographer from the first movie, so it will be fine. Also, I think she will do an excellent job like she did in Reign of Assassins. Did you see this one?

reply

I don't think they ever planned to make a sequel. They kind of just made a generic action movie for this sequel and put very little effort into the plot. The movie has nowhere near the dramatic and emotional effect that the original did.

That being said, the movie had a very nice look and feel about it and the action scenes were great. A very watchable action movie and Michelle Yeoh most definitely still kicks ass.

reply

I am sure she will be awesome.

Well Fat and Zhang's characters died in CTHG and considering this is a sequel, it makes sense that they're not in this one. Yeoh is awesome and Asian women are like fine wine, they only get better with age. I'm sure she will not disappoint.

You ready? Here come the pain!

It never occurred to me that she should look different because it'd been 15 years since the original movie. Watching her in this new one I never saw anything but the same Shu Lien I knew from before. So I'd say she's still got it - every bit of it. :)

She was still awesome in it; even though there is a lot less to work with drama and script-wise in the sequel. One of the very very few who is both a strong dramatic actor as well as a great martial artist. Pretty rare, especially these days.

Asians age gracefully, unlike white people *cough*cough*
