Great new show

First, I had to suggest IMDB include this page as it wasn't up prior to being aired. Secondly, it's great to see Ramsay in a new light. You can see he truly cares about the prisoners and wants them to succeed. Unfortunately, sometimes that is just impossible.

I agree! It's very refreshing to see Gordon Ramsay in a new light, as you said. I didn't know anything about his background prior to this show but learning about his past and seeing him interact with the prisoners really shows a different side to the gruff "Chef Ramsay" we have grown accustomed to.

I really respect his efforts and what he is trying to accomplish here.

I've long known about the "other side" of Ramsay. Watch Ramsay's "Boiling Point" and "Beyond Boiling Point" If you like this Ramsay and want more. He's actually got quite a kind and thoughtfull side to him as well as a few insecurities. Seems like a pretty normal guy when you learn more about him. Ramsay's "Great Escape" is a wonderful series where he travels the world learning cooking techniques in many locals. The amount of respect he shows other chefs may suprise some. As to this prison show, I am enjoying it but I'm a bit suprised and disappionted that he didn't find better candidates for his new program. I would've thought he'd have 1 or 2 hidden gems right off the bat. I can't help but think that I'd jump at the chance to bust my ass and learn a few things with Gordon Ramsay for 10 hours a day verses sitting in my cell for 21 hours a day but that may just be me AND... I do realize that many of these guys are behind bars because they don't have much foresight. They don't plan for the future and only live in the now. I must admit to experiencing some sadness in watching this show. There just seems to be a bit of futility in what Ramsay is attempting here.

Wherever you go, there you are.

I agree. While I'd had no real opinion of him (in spite of my friend's attempts to poison me against him), I came across this on BBC America. I really enjoyed it. He's not the mean guy you see on his American shows. But maybe that's what he/directors/producers want.

I'm really loving this. You could tell he had this in him when he would deal with some pretty pathetic situations on that restaurant makeover show. The guy has a kind heart.

I stopped watching hells kitchen because it's always the exact same format. Girls v boys then one girl goes on the boys team etc. so I saw this Ramsey show on demand and I watched all four shows. He is less Hollywood here as his hair is not as bleached. You just knew the addict was gonna get all high once he was free.
Hopefully Ramsey will have another show as fourteen or shows is not enough for one human to be on television.
By the way I wouldn't buy that slice.
