Very good so far. Just one complaint.

What bright spark thought it was a good idea to include so many scenes of people having conversations while eating?

It's a well documented fact that most viewers hate that.

Yeah I don't think he is watching the same show. I personally hate watching all people - not just overweight ones - putting food in their mouths. So I am very sensitive to it.

But I only recall the dead girl and some chocolate in the first episode. *cringe* The disrespectful Moss kid hovered over a bowl of cereal but never ate. The one lesbian was making a substantial Italian dinner but never consumed any onscreen. The Fletcher girl had Joe's tea ready twice. Neither time did we see him dine.

In the second episode, portly girl drank some wine. The dykes sat in a cafe but no food is shown at their table. Frank, I mean DI Harper, ate some hospital food at a distance or in silhouette, talking while chewing. Ugh. But that scene went towards characterization. And very little food was shown actually passing his lips. Moss's Girl Friday takes one bite of salad in his office. Khan makes a lot of finger food. But we only see Ears eat a carrot. Markham crunches something nondescript rudely at the party. And that is it.

So no, other than the large girl eating bits of chocolate, this show is thankfully light on people stuffing their faces. It is even lighter on people drinking coffee - which I hate all the more.

Nice Otkon. That's not offensive at all.

What I noticed was the amount of food preparation going on rather than the eating. I think it's meant to symbolise how they make a show of the rituals of home life and providing for each other even though psychologically the relationships are disintegrating.

It might be a presentational thing by the director.

Eating and talking scenes tend to be rare on screen because it leads to a lot of messing around when you have to do multiple takes.

Its that man again!!
