What's wrong with...

...running to your own apartment, locking and barricading the door, picking up the baby while calling the police and then locking yourself in the bathroom while talking to dispatch and waiting for them coppers to show up?

I mean, how incredibly stupid does one have to be in order to hide with your baby in the attic? Unbelievably moronic. What average person of average intelligence would do such a ridiculous thing when they could have done what every other normal functioning person with half a brain would have done?

Seriously, some writers... I just think they have their characters do too many stupid idiotic things out of sheer laziness. The most chilling and horrifying thrillers and horror movies are completely plausable, logical and free from this sort of easy-way-out-crap. I want to see people doing smart things and showing survival instinct and just being unlucky or outsmarted by the psycho/s. That is truly scary. When characters do ridiculously idiotic things it just makes me want them to die off, since they are too stupid to cope with anyway And I don't particularly enjoy rooting for the murderous douchebags every other movie, just because the protagonists are too moronic for me to want to watch them do stupid crap for any prolonged period of time...
