Soldiers look so young

Hard to believe the interviews were done recently. Don't all these men need to be in their late 80s? Boy have they aged well.

I was thinking the same thing but came to the conclusion that many of these interviews had to have taken place 10-20 years ago. One of the men featured in the documentary was featured in a local news segment about the subject, and he looks a good 10 years older here than in the documentary:

You can also tell that the video quality featuring "younger" looking veterans does not look as sharp as the video quality compared to the interviews featuring the "older" looking vets. If you have a good eye for this kind of thing, it actually becomes somewhat jarring when you focus in on this throughout the documentary.

Regardless, I will say all of these men look like they aged wonderfully.

Most WW2 Vets are sadly gone. If you do the math, if a man was born in 1927, then he would be just turning 18 when the war was ending. That would make him 87 today, if still living. This was a great documentary. My review is here

Interviews done over time is pretty common in documentaries. Esp. WWII as we started losing so many vets, people wanted to get it recorded while there was still time.
