I'm excited for the new season but...

I don't like the idea of it taking place in DC.. To me the show is Sleepy Hollow and needs to take place there. The cool atmosphere and history of the town is very important to the show. We'll see how it plays out but not digging the DC setting, and I live right outside of DC lol.

Also, hope the new girl does a good job - based on Dragon Con they seem to have good chemistry already!

I mean I guess it makes logical sense for them to eventually take the show to DC...But how can the show still be Sleepy Hollow if it doesn't take place in Sleepy Hollow?

reply

Yea I'm mixed. They are kind of losing their namesake now. The only real tie at this point is the character of Ichabod, unless the Horseman comes back too (fingers crossed) . But agree with the connection between all the founders and such it makes sense for it to have some connection to DC as well, maybe have an episode or two take place in Philidelphia as well could be good. Though I do hope we still got some Sleepy Hollow, maybe starts out in DC but by teh end they end up back in Sleepy Hollow to stop the big bad.

Some of you people would look forward to flies gravitating to schit. Your standards are so low it’s almost abominable. Sleepy Hollow will not flourish without Abbie Mills. They haven’t flourished since they started writing her out of the narrative in mid-S1 when they decided to turn the apocalypse into a fight over a woman. Whether stationed in Sleepy Hollow or DC, the show is destined to fail thanks to the ineptitude of those in charge. S2 was Emmy worthy compared to S3. Clifton Campbell is an awful showrunner. They knew at the end of S2 Nicole was leaving and instead of writing her character a grand final arc, they spent the season trying to find Ichabod a new piece of booty. I suspect S4 will be just as awful. I look forward to it as a matter of fact.

I agree 100% with your assessment.

I have no problem with the move. The show never really used the Sleepy Hollow setting to its advantage.

They didn't use Sleepy Hollow very well. Many things that they did in Sleepy Hollow could've been done anywhere. I think Ichabod will eventually go back to Sleepy Hollow, to use his archives if nothing else, and yes, I'd like to see him make better use of the town. Personally I'd love to see Headless back, if we got scary first season headless, not whiny lovesick headless. Or the reenactors. They should never have killed his reenactor friend. (Can you see Ichabod walking into Williamsburg some day? I can.) But there's lot of things in DC and eventually other places that would work for stories.

It's not much of a problem, it's only a title after all, and it would be very boring if the show didn't move forward.

Trouble is most viewers they're scared of change, they scared of progression.
I seem many crying over a main character dying.. well people don't live forever, it's odd she was able to survive this long considering the monsters they faced and it's gets VERY boring when all the good ones survive every encounter. There needs to be a real threat to make it work which means sometimes a popular/main character will and should die.

If i was a an actor, i think doing three seasons would be enough.
But as for SH as long as Crane stays they can keep pushing forward with a storyline.

I'm looking forward to series 4, those who aren't will just have to skip it wont they.

Because the premise of the show was given in the title. Sleepy Hollow, all the eerie connections inspired by the tales of the Colonial Period...It's not about viewers scared of change it's the ridiculousness that the writers let another interesting unusual show that had a loyal following get sloppy. What good show set in one place then switches up and is based in another for no logical reason. Certain shows establish from the get go it's all about moving from location to location, i.e., Star Trek, TWD, even Z Nation..the characters move from one setting (location) to another...BUT how is Sleepy Hollow in D.C.

what Jordie?
