Sleepy Hollow ratings dip again....

"Sleepy Hollow this Friday drew 1.85 million total viewers and a 0.5 demo rating, ticking down on both counts week-to-week to hit and tie series lows." Source: TV Line

Thw handwriting is on the wall. Fewer people are watching Sleepy Hollow than ever before. If they keep or renew this show, it's because Fox has nothing else lined up as a replacement or they believe that they can make $ in syndication. They should have cancelled it last spring.

I think Emerald City has similar viewer demographics and that's the reason, being on at the same time. Grateful for my DVR so I can record both.

FoxTV has no one but themselves to blame. This latest iteration is such a far cry and betrayal from the greatness that once was Season 1. A well-deserved cancellation is in order for this ongoing bait'n switch train wreck.

Wonder what they're going to say what the excuse is this time. Last time it was because of the President's inauguration, even though other shows maintain or improved their ratings that night. Maybe this time it'll be because of the Superbowl. Yeah that's it, people were out celebrating early. 

I wish people would give it a chance. I like the monsters and think it's much better now than it was at the end of last year.

reply

It's an ok show, but it is missing Abbie.

"I'm Wally West...The fastest man alive!"

reply

I'm not missing her in the slightest.

reply

I don't miss her, too.

reply

Of course, you don't. Something you haven't hesitated in telling us for almost a year. And prior to that how you didn't think she was important to the show. But let someone post over and over how they hate this season and the claws would probably come out.

Yop! These (one or two) folk ain't slick. At All.

I've said nothing to anyone who is not happy with the season, aside from that I wish they'd give it a chance. It's not like season one, but honestly, it's not that bad. The monsters are interesting. I liked seeing Grace and Jeremy and Headless. It got renewed and rebooted and it's up to each individual to decide if they like it this way or not.

reply

There have been a number of posts by people over this season telling everyone who isn't happy with how things went down to either stop watching or to stop commenting. But that doesn't seem to extend to those people who, like you, haven't hesitated to tell the board how they either don't miss Abbie or how they thought she wasn't that important OR how much they didn't want to see a romance between them. IMO, if you guys get to bitch and moan about Abbie, then surely others can bitch and moan about the direction the series has taken.

99% of the fans agree with you and have left...

Te show was never a ratings smash. I was amazed when it got a third season and even more so with this fourth; which I think is turning out better than expected (from a creative point of view).

reply

Abby was horrible and not all that important to the show.

reply

Yes, the co-lead was so "horrible" and "not all that important" that her character's sidelining and eventual erasure led to 99% of the viewership bailing. But then again, what do facts and nielsen ratings matter to alt-people and their alt-facts

reply

So unimportant that they LIED about her being in episode 1 just to get people to watch (the truth came out before the episode aired) and now I read that they held some sort of memorial for her (without using her likeness). All in an effort to court back some of her fans. If she were so unimportant they wouldn't have bothered.

Actually, they did use her when Ichabod was having flashbacks at the jukebox at the end of episode 6. They showed her and Ichabod drinking in a bar with a voice over of her saying "You may not have family, but you're not alone."

reply

That's even worse. At best they're trying to lure her many fans back to the show by thinking a flashback will do the trick. At worse, they're trolling her many fans by reminding them what they lost. There isn't that much tone deafness in the world. At some point, one has to admit that these people are just terrible human beings.
