Whatever our opinions may have been, I have thoroughly enjoyed my time visiting this board. It made me laugh, angry, think and just smile. I wish there was a way to keep in touch, but I don't have a FB account, nor Twitter. I just enjoyed these message boards.
Now I'll miss them, and all the posters I have met.

Sucks hearing the news! I removed myself from the Facebook Sleepy page recently to, since I am not really a fan of the show as it is now, it just didn't feel right being on the page, but today I hear this news and I am like 'how am I going to read the snark from the ladies???'
Disappointed!!

Agreed! I've also learned quite a lot from these boards. I wouldn't be surprised if pages like TWD proved to be too much for them to manage. That board is horrendous!
I have both FB and Twitter and don't use either all that much (especially FB). And that won't change, so don't know where I'll go to discuss my favorite/used to be favorite shows.

So, I'll reply to myself. I think one of the things I'll miss the most is the possibility of PM'ing a poster for a more in depth conversation. Those have been blessed for me; people talking the time and patience to really explain ideas that may have been foreign to me. I'm glad for the three replies I got; those are posters that I have really enjoyed and will miss!

Yes, these boards falling away will be a pretty big loss. So much good conversation, so many connections made. The on-going conversations about a show or a character have been so much fun. Even when the shows themselves disappoint the posters here always make it interesting in one way or another.
After losing TWOP, I focused my tv/movie chatter here. Now that this place is disappearing I don't know what comes next.
over the last few years there has been a very large group of trolls on the site and many are very hatefull people, imbd just couldn't handle all the complaints anymore and a large number of good people just left its to bad but I think the hand writing has been on the wall for awhile now,i will miss reading peoples reviews and mature remarks and the imformation many have posted on renewals and dates and other things it was helpful.
Col. Needham, one of the founders of IMDb, has posted some insightful comments. It is a technology problem first and foremost. Yes, trolls are a part of the problem, but some people equate "anyone who doesn't think or react like me" to a troll, and that's not true. A troll pushes buttons to make people angry and then sits back and revels in their success. *If* they ever responds, it is not to add thoughts or examples, it is to insult posters and trivialize the truth.
And learning that has been one of the greatest gifts I've received from these boards. _________

Your clear & thoughtful words made me smile, think and forced one of my eyes to tear out a little.
Why? Because your clear, matter of fact way of telling the plain truth is moving.
I truly hope you & all others who enjoy good genuine discussion and exchanging ideas & opinions manage to find a good place for that again, somewhere out there...
