Mu

How did she die?

reply

Not good.

Looked glass cut her neck

reply

She was in front of the window when a bomb exploded.

Remember when we saw Fleming and Ann survive an explosion because they were between a set of windows? Well, Mu was standing there looking for him coming home to her.

(Why weren't the lights off or blackout curtains, though. *That* I didn't understand!)

Is Mu a writer/character construct to represent all of Fleming's "friends-with-benefits" and foreshadow his lack of commitment??

No, she was real and involved with Fleming for a time. Her death during the Blitz was said to have had a profound effect on Ian Fleming's life after. He was also the one to identify her body as well if memory serves.
