Spoilers

Wait, did I miss Ash being killed in Season 1? Who killed her and why?

All I know is she wasn't with her anymore because the guy who hired her for the task force in Season 2, Epi 1, said, "You were still with Ash then." Then there was a flashback of a woman's dead feet at the threshold of King's house.

We still don't know who killed her. That's what this whole season is about. She was probably killed by mistake, with Janet being the intended target. That's what makes Janet's grief doubly poignant. And Marta Dusseldorp conveys these emotions of grief, guilt, longing, anger and frustration simultaneously with more depth than any other actress could. She is truly remarkable.

I am US viewer who, discovered Marta watching NPLH on Acorn subscription...
Liked her but hated the show's soap opera premise and over-acting of many others in cast...
Then Janet King came on Acorn...
Watching it discovered Crownies on YouTube and now Janet King Season 2 so am watching JK 1 and 2 pretty much simultaneous...
She is just great...
Thought S1 was very predictable as far as the bad guy goes and S2 just drives me nuts with the bad/corrupt/anti-female government thread...since I am in US I know government can be decidedly corrupt and short-sighted, sacrificing NG public good for personal interests but this season just seems to reply on that aspect for so many plot complications...
I don't know how someone from Australia would evaluate that issue...

Plus I just watched S2E5 and could not believe Janet spend the night where she did...telegraphing something bad promised by the AG was going to take advantage of that dubious concern... She has developed into someone she would really crack down on if that person was on her team...

PS--why was there no security footage of whoever was sitting on that bench?? Right outside the Justice Center??

"That's the beauty of argument, Joey...if you argue correctly, you are never wrong..."
