End of season1 --spoilers probably

Ok I just want to know what the deal is with Tatum and Richard
I watched this on Acorn and finished last episode S1 yesterday.
The deal with Tatum and Richard apparently is that they had a one-off and he never contacted her...at the end of Crownies...
All kinds of tension and recriminations at beginning of S1
Richard has loved her all through Crownies...what kept them from getting together and what happened with Danny's charges...
Last. I recall is that he was in jail after Tatum visited but no trial was depicted and he didn't confess outright...just mention of some DNA evidence on Diane's clothing or something? That was hazy and mostly happened off camera...

So is he in jail? Was he framed by Jack?

I know Tatum is over in US making tv series--at least she did last season...
