if the parents were THAT strapped for cash...

why did the girl have this nice car? why have a car at all? with teenager insurance on it? insanity.

I have such a hard time believing that these people are living THAT BADLY since heaven forbid they should lose the house with the pool and the hot tub. when you lose your job you have to economize. even the boyfriend's mother was forced to wear one necklace throughout this movie[they apparently had to downsize their company and her father was let go].
