Ending scene and Alan Rickman

I know he directed the film but the ending with Louis XIV in the centre, surrounded by admirers, was a very touching final scene now that Alan Rickman is no longer with us. A great actor and a exit worthy of his career.

And the music was just so moving too!

I just finished watching the film. The credits are still rolling on my screen. I absolutely, absolutely agree with you and the OP both. The last scene, his face filled with quiet triumph, the music...no more words.

I cried like a baby. The romance between Sabine and Notre. Alan standing triumphantly. Sabine's beautiful outdoor auditorium. The music. Even Stanley Tucci holding hands with his lover.

Indeed! What a wonderful ending scene in general. But made all the more poignant with Alan Rickman's untimely death. And the choice of music is stunning as well! Makes it that moloch more profound.

This is nice image to keep in our heads as the perfect way to send Alan off:)

reply

I too agree.
A beautiful send off!
The music came from the heavens.
Such a wonderful period movie.
I will always think highly of Alan Rickman's acting. Always.

I haven't seen a more nostalgic ending than that of "A little chaos"! And the music of course... magical.
