Why do conspiracy theorists over-estimate competence of Government?

You would think after:
- Nixon tape recording his own damning testimony for the prosecution
- Chernoble happening
- The Japanese measuring the Fukushima conaminated water at 100ms which just so happened to be the maximum measurable value of the device
- America's national health care
- Vietnam
- This:http://www.foxnews.com/us/2013/09/21/atomic-bomb-nearly-exploded-over-north-carolina-in-161-report-says/
- The banking crisis
- Gun control in the US

...people would stop thinking that the government are competent enough to hide spaceships from us en mass. If you think the US government were desperate enough to invade Iraq that they can involve what would require thousands of people in a conspiracy to kill thousands of their own people in a terrorist attack then go on thinking that.

This guy is out to make money out of people who, frankly, deserve to be in the 80%. Any credible doctor should at least know how to present a paper with structure and this "documentary" was all over the place. I was briefly interested during the random number generator bit but when I started thinking about it it stopped.

Sir, not getting into a debate over your points except to point out that you have been wearing blinders your entire life, and you believe that with which you were incepted to believe from birth, as were your parents. Copious amounts, reams in fact, massive stacks, entire libraries of evidence exist to demonstrate, beyond any reasonable doubt, the existence of a multitude of conspiracies through history, and particularly in the last century.

Some of items on your list were each meticulously planned and either perfectly or sloppily executed, others were merely natural events and could not be controlled. You fail to recognize the extreme level of intelligence, the incredible size of their network, and the communication that goes into controlling many of the most significant events on this planet.

It indeed involves tens of thousands and actually hundreds of thousands of people, including police, military, scientists, and many other professions, carrying out the Master Work. Unfortunately they are likely not aware of their purpose for the same reasons most people think they are getting actual news on television, or their vote counts so they watch the debates... The power structure consists of concentric circles, and only a small group on top of the pyramid knows the final plan, and I don't claim to know its full extent, yes that pyramid on the dollar bill, inserted in 1933, the Egyptian one.

Its more comforting and easier to believe in a higher authority than in the natural beauty of chaos. I can't see any of the items above that doesn't demonstrate complete incompetence from those in responsible positions that should know better.

With respect, what is the Master Work? Putting news out there to suit one party or another? That’s just politics my friend; controlling the media cycle isn't rocket science.

There are a few that have made me raise an eyebrow over the years - Bobby Kennedy for one. This though? It’s not just a question of intelligence; it’s a question of conscience and will too. Controlling that amount of variables and maintaining the story like that across so many people is highly unlikely. I'm an engineer; what happened to Occam's Razor? People are clearly getting dumber to believe this nonsense and so they’ll be easier to enslave to complete the Master Work soon anyway.

P.S. can the Master Work involve water slides? People always like water slides; even clever super intelligent people. Those people also have families and friends and have mid-life crisis like the rest of us. People are just people.

You're right- the government is incompetent- THAT's why all this info has been so widely distributed. BUT no one will be held accountable. The people in charge (the REAL people in charge- not the president, congress, etc..)- but the people running the corporations IE the elite rich- also happen to run this show. THEY say who gets held accountable.

The reason you think they're incompetent is that you believe their lie: that they are working towards your best interests. You believe the show they've been putting on. You believe they're just bumbling around, while TRYING to make progress towards a better world for us all. But our entire world system -- with all its poverty, and sickness, and destruction, and death -- starts to make sense only when you start to look at things with the understanding that the powers-that-be do NOT have any interest in your well being. The reason all their programs don't work is that they're not intended to. It's all a show, to placate you while they work towards a better world for THEMSELVES. The reason it sounds "crazy" is because you BELIEVE that the world is just what they told us it is. They told us, "The world is like THIS, and it operates THIS way, and we're trying very hard to bring more and better life to all mankind"....And you believe that. Ah sure, you're no fool... you know they're corrupt... but you believe that the world system wants what we want: peace, health, provision, and contentment for all. But if you start to really look at the world system, and just CONSIDER the concept that it's actually designed to destroy lives rather than to improve them... If you dig in, and ask questions, and just CONSIDER the possibility that it's actually intended to do the OPPOSITE of what they SAY... Then the pieces of the big picture will start to fall into place, and the troubles of this world begin to make much more sense.

I don't believe that EVERYTHING that happens is part of some flawlessly planned and precisely executed scheme. But they aren't merely a bunch of incompetent, greedy crooks, knocking around with no other purpose than to stuff their own pockets full of money. If you believe that, it will keep you from looking deeper. And that's exactly how they want it.

I think you're basically just desribing capitalism. People are selfish and look after themselves.

Have you ever had a bet on a football match? You would think you can pick the winner based on form but the variables involved are incredible; the weather, the referee, tactics, timing, injury, who got dumped by their girlfriend, a drug problem, bribary, hostile fans, low confidence....

Now apply that to 6 billion people. I don't doubt there are gentle nudges made by those in power. Even some extreme ones but reckless quick intervention like war or presidential assassination only leads to chaos; like the Iraq war opening the vaccuum for IS to stroll right in. If you have not read the Dune books by Frank Herbert I would recommend them; much more thoughtful than they are ever given credit for and changed a lot of my views on civilisation.

You can't stop people believing what they want to. some still believe a guy called Jesus walked on water and some believe a guy called Gilgamesh threw the souls of aliens into a volcano with nuclear bombs. None of it probably happened though. That there though; that was a great way of controlling people. Still...Occam's Razor. I doubt that an uber rich elite group took the risk of committing mass murder for securing foreign oil in a time where climate change pressure is forcing increased renewable generation rather than continuing with their skiing holiday in the Alps.
