Master Class In Acting

This film displays incredibly-talented acting, by all three leads. Everyone knows Patrick Stewart's ability but few are aware of the superb skill of Carla Gugino whose career I've been following (and enjoying) for the past two decades. (She was recently terrific in "Wayward Pines".) Here, Carla convinces us with her portrayal of a put-upon, struggling spouse and her tearful scenes with Stewart in the second-half of the movie are deeply touching.

The writing and direction of the film have the distinct quality of stage-work which is at least two steps above the cinema. It's sad this gem has been overlooked and is sitting in obscurity. I plan to spread word about it to generate greater viewing. It deserves that.

I agree. Often the best movies are created from superb plays. Unfortunately, people are too impatient when a good movie comes from dialogue rather than action.

I totally agree. Carla Gugino was luminous in this movie. Patrick Stewart was awesome as well, albeit guilty of a little scenery chewing, not inconsistent with his character.
