One of the worst finales in TV history...

Worse than Sopranos. Worse than Dexter.

They tried so hard to give everyone some overly emotional send off that it became ridiculous. The writers' attempt at the non-stop pulling of the heart strings had the opposite effect. After 3 hours of that drivel I was numb to it all. It became comical. Yes, I know the episode was only an hour, but it felt like 10. It just dragged on and on. And the fate of Elijah? That went so far beyond nonsensical, I still can't validate it.

When will writers learn, less is more? Non-stop pathetic attempts to create drama and emotion are cheap, childish, and rarely have the effect they intend. It was truly painful to make it through the entire finale, only to groan at the end.

Worse than the "Dexter" finale? Surely, you jest!

I think the writers did the best they could given the fact that "The Originals" wasn't suppose to be renewed for a fifth season. The one at the end of the fourth was to be the finale. I'm assuming they had to scramble to come up with a plot and submit scripts before the Apr 18th, 2018 premier date.

I thought the ending was a little cheesy but sad nonetheless. I couldn't imagine living as long as they did only to end everything over something so ridiculous.
