Since we are on our last two weeks here, how do people feel the show should ultimately end? I hope, perhaps in vain, that it gets several more GOOD seasons, but let's just skip to the end.

Klaus at peace would be great. I know JoMo wants him to die at the end, but I'd prefer a happy end.
shareI want to see Freya take her place over the shadow of Klaus's mantel to be honest, she is the eldest. Furthermore, I want some of them to be witches in the end, I don't want the fate for all of them. Elijah is the perfect gentlemen vampire.
But yes, a happy ending. I want an ending something like Buffy, where NOLA is completely abandoned by them (home destroyed/etc), and they are moving on more importantly as a family. Though, they are out of NOLA for now, but not sure if it is permanent... But anyway, with the future is bright feeling at the end with it.
I want them to finally address their enemy building, and (probably under the direction/help of Freya above), guide them to a more sensible disposition and attitude. Deal with Klaus's mania. Somehow; but if it ends in his death I wouldn't enjoy it, but I wouldn't freak out too much over it. But it would have to be done rather perfectly, and for the rest of them.
But leave it open that places like the other side/ancestors/etc - are still there, and that he can technically be brought back in the future. But don't actually make that a thread, but just never touch the topic. Let the fans decide in their own mind.
But it definitely needs to end as a strong, family first unity at the end. In my opinion, that is what made the show, and how it should end.

I want everyone to become what they were supposed to be if they had not become vampire. Klaus a werewolf, Hayley a werewolf, Elijah and his siblings witches or human.
I also want Klaus to get his happily ever after with his daughter and the mother of his daughter. Hope belongs to Klaus and Hayley, not Elijah and Hayley.
I want KLaus to be not a d**k in the end and be nice to everyone like he was nice to Camille.
I want Elijah and Others to go find their own lives and leave Klaus with his. Of course they can come and visit him and Hope whenever they want to but for the love of GOD please find your own lives and families.

To be honest, the ideal ending for me would be if everyone died, and we find out the entire series was a book that was published by Cami, having turned Klaus' memoirs he forced her to write into a novel.
shareFor Camille to be alive and happily involved with Klaus, who is a lot more emotionally healthy than he used to be.
Haley and Elijah to be together with no more angst getting in their way. And I'd like the entire Originals family to have a healthier dynamic than before, which means I'd like them to less co-dependent and obsessed with each other. "Always and forever" is nice until it hinders you from living your own life.
And for Hope to be a happy, healthy, bada** little witch! :)
I'm just going to say it. I still want Klaus and Caroline together. No matter how the shows end, my headcanon will always be that they somehow find their way to each other in about a century or so and live happily ever after traveling the world. lol
Hayley and Elijah belong together. I liked Klaus with Cami, but I don't like him with Hayley.
