This movie is really stupid.. The biggest problem I have is the poor Editing and sudden scenes changes.. Or incoherent background sequences.. The animation quality is so bad it's like some cartoons fighting.. So immature scripting and typical marsala movie.. I gave it 1/10
why do people uphOLd THE devil when they know the definition of itself?
Again, which Indian movie are you going to compare with 300, LOTR, Hunger Games, etc? I have seen all of these movies multiple times, and I don't see any other Indian movie which compares to them, besides Bahubali.
Which Indian movie do you like, which compares to 300, LOTR, Hunger Games, etc? Hello? I can only hear the sound of crickets chirping...
"You mean, like, a movie? You mean, like, something made in India? You mean, like,..."
Don't beat around the bush, hurry up and tell me what your preferred Indian movie is, and I can tell you how it holds up against the same movies you mentioned.
The director is so third class..he ripped off every scenes from 300,lotr, hungrr games... I felt i watched a tv serial from star plus and not a movie..
Exactly - but this movie at least makes an effort to try to raise the bar. I think that's a laudable thing. Eventually, things will evolve to a better and better state of affairs. But I'm not going to cock a snook at a movie that at least tried to be more ambitious than the same old predictable crap which Bollywood has been shoveling down our throats for generations. I prefer to enjoy the positives in this movie, rather than dwelling on any deficiencies, because that would be like looking a gift-horse in the mouth.
I don't know where you're drawing such conclusions from. I'm not a Telugu-speaker, and feel you're needlessly injecting your own personal politics into the discussion of the merits of this film.
There is no merit in the movie.. The only reason I went to see was the imdb hype which made me waste two and half hours of my life ..I can see some mediocre Indians clapping when the hero took a ninety degree turns and walk towards the screen ..hahaha

What a horrible movie! This thread made me lol though. This is why I am still not willing to return to India. Noting changed in the last 7 years. Still *beep* movies and *beep* mentality. And as soon as state facts they are taken as criticism :( I digress.
It seems that we have the worst type of people who are coming to this board to show off their projectile vomiting skills. We could be having a discussion on some entirely different topic unrelated to movies, and your ugly personalities and views would still be advertising themselves quite loudly.
As a North Indian, I apologize to other Indians for the existence of such trash. Most of us are not like this.
I am not South Indian, although I still take note of your slur.
My dad comes from Uttarakhand - where Dehradun, Rishikesh, Haridwar, etc can be found - it's probably the closest part of India to Mount Kailas, the abode of Shiva (which is actually located in Tibet). That's why I found the high mountain waterfall scenes very enchanting, because there are a lot of high mountains where my dad comes from. I know that the movie was shot at the beautiful Athirapally waterfalls in Kerala.
My mom comes from Punjab - actually Bahubali is doing very well in Punjab, where there is a lot of khatri/martial culture. This movie is a hit with Punjabis. At the particular cinema where I saw the movie, the theater was packed with Punjabis, and people came with their entire family to see it. At the end of the film, when the credits were rolling and people were filing out of the theater, as soon as scenes came up for Bahubali-Part2, people immediately stopped in their tracks to watch those. I could tell that people really liked this movie.
I would hav given it 0.5 LOL. Damm chutiya movie for damm chutiya public. How can they even think of it to compare with 300. This movie is like all typical Indian formulatic masala movies. Which requires everything (dance, music, over the top action, over the top storyline, over the top emotional attyachar from family, over the top love sequence, over the top dialoguebaazi, too much dance and music and even cant be considered as musical, lol)to make hit, but makes no sense at all. chutiya telgus
Totally agree with ur review. Below is my review for bahubali.
The most stupid movie of the decade. Worse than Ram gopal verma ki aag.

Bahubalis strange way of climbing mountains. Hahaha. Bahubali never comes to know about a secret tunnel. Hahaha. Bahubali remains under water all the time he paints that tattoo on Avantikas hand. Hahaha. Avantikas portrayal as Xena character, dances in trees with Bahubali. Hahaha. The movie looked like a spoof of ' SKI SAFARI' game, ' 'Ninjump'. Worst acting by all. Worst direction. Worst screenplay. Worst editing. Worst plot. The visual effects were laughable. The bull fight made me laugh so hard.... Made on a budget of 250 crore. Wow man. They cud hav donated that amount to the poor Telugoos. The music is openly plagiarized from the movie troy. So many Hollywood n other foreign movies r blatantly ripped off. Go watch troy or gladiator.
The dalit hater, christian hater, muslim hater, mother teresa hater @drspaceman911 got kickd twice.
This is the Best Indian Cinema can come up with. Though it was not Bollywood but a Regional Cinema (Telugu Cinema) whose audience are restricted to Particular Region. For example, imagine a parallel Film Industry in America (Say in Texas) and the audiences are also restricted to Texas alone.
Now as far as CGI is concerned, India anyways is a poor country which can not be compared to US or even China. We do not have Big Budgets like Hollywood Movies and in this particular case, the audience was restricted to just 10% of Indian Audience who speaks the language of that particular region (Telugu).
However, this movie has been made at the Budget of USD 20 Million. Can you imagine a similar CGI in Hollywood for that cost? Even Adam Sandler Family movies costs around USD 70 Million.
Try to appreciate the effort that in such a low budget they have created this movie. For us this is an Epic Attempt and we appreciate it. As we grow richer, we will create better CGI but it will take couple of decades to come near the Hollywood quality of this decade. :-)
