Chapter II

Chapter II - Penny Dreadful - a gothic novel travel diary and fan tribute to PD in appropriate wardrobe. In the following chapters we go on a journey with potential PD characters created by JL as they experience some beautiful and obscure places. We will find a lot of curiosities on our way. [In the pictures featured are original pieces from the TV show set of Penny Dreadful - here: Vanessa`s jewellery (silver chain (cross), ruby bracelet).] Czech republic - Bohemia - Liberec/Reichenberg In the first part of this this shooting we were inspired by a particular scene in PD. Dorian Gray and Vanessa Ives in the Botanical Gardens: Dorian Gray: "I like to see one extraordinary thing every day." "let long grass grow round the roots to keep them Moist, cool and green; and shade the violets, That they may bind the moss in leafy nets. " John Keats (1795 - 1821) In the second part we took our inspiration from the scenes in the desert and the witchy creatures of PD.

Chapter III - Penny Dreadful - a gothic novel travel diary and fan tribute to PD in appropriate wardrobe. In the following chapters we go on a journey with potential PD characters created by JL as they experience some beautiful and obscure places. We will find a lot of curiosities on our way. [In the pictures featured are original pieces from the TV show set of Penny Dreadful - here: Vanessa`s jewellery (silver chain (cross), ruby bracelet).] The fotoshoot took place in Liberec/Czech Republic and in the museum "Nordböhmisches Museum" - a very beautiful building. You can find very nice fin de siecle, victorian and historic buildings in Liberec as also shown in this album. The museum has some very interesting and fascinating pieces and exhibitions of arts and crafts. www.muzeumlb.cz The location had its own energy and gave away perfect spots for a Penny Dreadful inspired fotoshooting featuring our versions of Vanessa Ives and Hecate Poole. This time we used various different scenes from the TV Show as inspiration. For this chapter we use quotes of John Keats (1795–1821). "Lamia": "So rainbow-sided, touch’d with miseries, She seem’d, at once, some penanced lady elf, Some demon’s mistress, or the demon’s self. Upon her crest she wore a wannish fire Sprinkled with stars, like Ariadne’s tiar: Her head was serpent, but ah, bitter-sweet!"
