Absolutely Wonderful performances

I so agree! They spent time getting to know one another, and became friends, before filming began, and I think it shows. Wonderful actresses.

I loved the Dad, too. The actor is apparently best known (in Canada?) for playing pretty nasty sorts, and was offered the part of Stan, as I understand it, but talked to the director/screenwriter so insightfully about the warmth of the character of the father that he was given that role, instead.
