Stupid movie, stupid people.

I like survival movies and this got me interested until the.... rape scene which was really really stupid. Why must there me a movie that has female characters in this scenario get raped? The guy was a creep to begin with and she's didn't keep her guards up at all. How stupid do you have to be to live in the woods far from everyone else but split up to do other things. Don't they realize that numbers and defensive mode is a major key to survival? She has an ax with her and he's asking weird questions, didn't it click in her mind that he's about to do something terrible? She then lets him circle around her and she takes her eyes off him and allowed him to get close. She also has a gun, which makes it even worst that she doesn't carry it with her at all times, not to mention that they should always be staying together. I really found the movie to hit a failing point when that scene happened. I'm a guy, and in that situation where I'm alone in the woods, I would always have my gun with me and I would never split up. Just look what happened to the father when he went off alone. They should of learned from that. This movie seriously portrayed people as morons. It gets me fired up, seriously stay in a group even if there's only two and always have your gun with you. There's no *beep* point of putting it somewhere where you can't get to especially in a situation like this. *beep* this movie for aggravating the viewers.

I thought this was the highlight of the film and Evan was great as usual.

So you would be carrying your gun with you even if you went to the toilet or 10 feet from your doorstep? And Stan was the first guy to visit them, it's not like they were getting attacked every day or something. What was she supposed to do, just chop his head off before he even touched her? I mean, she knew him, it's not like he was a complete stranger.

Guy who seemed a bit off the first time she meets him, suddenly turns up out of the blue and starts asking personal questions about her situation, with her sister conveniently out and about..

But she was too dumb/naive to see the danger he posed.

You can't really victim-blame in this case. The women had no prior survival training, and had not encountered a soul since the boyfriend left. Even if Rachel-Woods had taken an aggressive stance with the axe, a regular sized man would easily have evaded, or trapped it 9 times out of 10. Her build just doesn't have the upper body strength to wield that tool as a weapon. They looked awkward enough just chopping timber.

I'm just surprised she couldn't fight him off long enough until her sister came. The dude didn't seem that powerful, although he gave her a pretty good wallop on the temple. That was a tough scene to watch. I sometimes hate my gender because there's creeps like Stan walking the streets in real life.

Survival is pretty instinctive and these girls lack every bit of it. They had a gun, they should have it by their side at all times, especially in a situation like this.

Yeah, this guy knows all about survival. Ask him how he got through his last sentence in the slammer--by bending over and taking it up the poop shoot. Who needs a gun when you've got Big Ed watching out for you? All it takes is a loaded weapon up your Hershey Highway, a big explosion of jizz, and you're protected for the duration.
