This movie is probably one of the ten worst I have ever seen. I love robin Williams, it was filmed in Nashville, all reasons to rent it. It moves too slow, story is boring. Wasted 88 minutes of my time.

If this is your true assessment then the amount of movies you have actually seen is pathetically low and of practically zero value in evaluating the quality of film.

I agree... We only watched about 30mins of it... So BAD had to turn it off!!! I don't recommend it...

The characters were true to types. There are such persons like Nolan who don't get that realization about themselves until it's too late to realize it satisfactorily.
The other characters are true to form also. Although a gay hustler having a controlling pimp isn't very likely.
What some viewers deem boring or tedious are more the actual conditions the characters are experiencing rather than a deficiency in the film or script.

Some of the dissatisfaction that some viewers have with the film might be their expectations of Robin Williams in his more manic roles Like Good Morning VietNam.

This is more like his role in Seize the Day.

At first I would agree with you. But found after the first 30 minutes of very slow and deliberate movement there was something very real about this movie and how it was reflecting the characters life. So sad how Nolan lived this lie all his life and was able to overcome that. It is definitely not an escapist type move where you are looking at someones action filled and glamorous life but very deliberate and sad... an intimate expression of the film something more classic.
