it's a fan film so it should be made available online for free

It is now online. For free. You can watch it anytime you want. Just have the entire hour and a half set aside for viewing. Copy and paste this link to view it. MeTV network has this on its site: http://metvnetwork.com/monitor/watch-the-new-unofficial-star-trek-movie-with-chekov-for-free

I just saw an early cut of Star Trek Renegades online. It was very good. They haven't finished all the effect yet--although the effects are good right now as it is--so they haven't announced yet when they'll release it. I assume they'll release it online.

With original TOS and Voyager Cast members in it? I would pay money to see it. I am not happy with what they have done with these new Trek films.

How can you be not happy with the new films J.J Abrams mad? They are GREAT!!!

with all the treak films they made over the years it was starting to be same old same old... they reinvented it a bit with the next gen films years back but even then theres so much you can tell with out comming back to the same stories. at least with a paralelle universe they can come back to old news but with a twist

The difference beteween genious and stupidity... genious has its limit

Well, I think what fans need to realize about JJ Abrams two films are this:
1) Stop blaming any problems on Abrams, one man does not make a movie
-Sure, the script of the second one has some problems and there are plot inconsistencies with the original timeline at times that are blatantly ignored. But does he write the script?
-Sure, the actors don't always act 100% like their original counterpart. Were they written that way? Might I mention JJ Abrams doesn't write the script? He tells the actors to portray the character written, and if they're written to do things the original wouldn't do, there's not much he can do
2) The future of the new movies isn't doomed
-So Roberto Orci wrote the first one originally intending to remake Star Trek, a crime if you ask me. But, since the studio figured Nimoy might make it more marketable, he wrote an original story to give context for a new timeline instead of adapting one, which is why most Trek fans and people in general agree the first one was pretty good.
-Roberto Orci isn't a great writer so when set free on the second, it was underwhelming. And the third script was so bad they fired him. So don't worry, the people making the new one aren't going to make his mistakes. And they clearly understand Star Trek since there script was so much like Star Trek the studio was quoted saying it was "too Star Trek-y" at first but have since seemingly calmed down a bit and let them do it that way. So the future of the movies is saved.

For some Star Trek fans the JJ Abrams movies are uninteresting because they are too commercial and most importantly are a reboot of something that doesn't need rebooting. Its not the way where Star Trek should be heading.

I would love to see a movie where it would be discovered that the destruction of Romulus was an act of terrorism by some time traveling faction like we have seen in Enterprise and reverted. And thus put an end to the JJ Abrams reboot.

Big fan of TOS films, TNG, and DS9, to a lesser extent the other series.

I agree, JJ Abram's Trek films have been great thus far.

You're joking, right? It's a fan film. No Star Trek fan films ever air on TV.

I don't read or respond to private messages. Sorry.

reply

YOU are joking, right??? Yeah, this is a fan film...if you can call Tim Russ and Walter Koenig fans, not to mention Robert Beltran, Nichelle Nichols, and Terry Farrell!

And if you don't know who even one of those people is, you shouldn't be talking about Trek at all. EVER.

OMG, so friggin' excited!!! 12/1/16!!! I like the Abrams stuff, but was so sad to see the TNG/DS9/Voyager stuff go so abruptly. SO EXCITED!!!

reply

So does that make the Star Trek The New Voyages or rather Phase II non fan made films too? Cause they star Walter Koenig, George Takei and a few other Star Trek Veterans too.
Admittedly they are made and produced by James Cawley and are funded the way that Tim Russ' film was as well.

Personally I think out of all of the fan made films out, I think that Cawleys version of Star Trek TOS is the better made out there, I do admit the first few episodes werent too great overall on acting and effects, but as they went, it all got way better, so if anyone wants a series to get their Trek fix, check their episodes out on You Tube, that is where you will find their episodes until they finish revamping their website. I am sure you will like their films or episodes.
