That's it, though. They weren't hovels. They were, for the most part, trailers. These people exist in America. They have a few "modern" conveniences, but prefer to "make do" with the old ways. They wear the same clothing until it is nothing but rags. They bathe infrequently. Hygiene, not a thing with them. It is a scary reality that most Americans pretend is something from the past, or a joke. That is what makes it scary. There are people that really live like this.
Exactly!! That is one of the things that makes this film so creepy. And why I never leave the city limits....
