Terrible movie, I was totally mislead by the promising reviews on imdb

Fair enough, she was once in some really good movies... Blade runner/No way out.. but at what point does she make the decision to accept that she can't get any great roles anymore so starts taking jobs in any old B movies that get offered her way? I'm guessing she's not hard up far cash so at some point she's just made the decision to take whatever comes along so she can buy another sports car or whatever...
Fair enough if that's what she wants to do, but doing so encourages the studios(or independent film makers) to keep on making this kind of rubbish movie.
Of course it's not just her, there are others far worse... Bruce Willis springs to mind.. oh yeah and Robert Deniro... actually most of them are at it...

BTW. it's really funny to read the other reviews/posts, pretty much 100% of the positive reviews are obviously from people who have something to do with the movie... :(

Julia Roberts is 8 yrs younger and looks about the same. They both still have beautiful features, gorgeous hair and a nice figure - healthy. Sean definitely messed up her career by being difficult to work with, nutty - and maybe a substance abuse problem too? Anyway -sounds like she has her stuff together again and any exposure is good. Losing her youth may have been the catalyst for her acting to mature and getting other opportunities. Now she's not limited to pretty girl, fluff roles. It's not like she had very many good lines in Wallstreet anyway. One job leads to another and eventually she could get something good. Remember the crap Drew Barrymore did when she was trying to break back into acting after rehab in the 80's? Look at some of Michael Caine's work. Work is work - esp. when you can't be choosy. I'm proud of her and how she let it all hang out. Look at Jessica Lange, Cloris Leachman. Sean can have an amazing career again if she sticks with it and stays healthy.

Off subject but Ada reminded me of the girl with the big eyes in American Horror Asylum - where the asylum doctor nearly gave her a hysterectomy and she ended up having alien babies. The music/beat and eye whites rolling into the back of the head had a sort of Fantastic Planet feel. It's an animated Czech film made in the 70's where humans are either pets or annoying rodents. The English speaking version is the best.

I agree. I kept hoping something would happen that made it all worth it but instead it was just her making bad choices and letting others die for nothing, and then briefly apologizing.

If they all trust the pit and the pit really does what it suggests it will and really punishes the community when they fail it, then damn it, be sacrificed! Stop being so selfish! The pit wants you and the pit promises a better world for you, so take it!

So many people died for nothing. For all we know she really goes to paradise/heaven when she gets sacrificed. Her life sure isn't worth living as is.

The whole thing was just frustrating. I wasn't scared either nor really interested.

This is the worse movie I've seen this year. A bunch of times I couldn't tell if I was supposed to laugh at some of the dialogue either. It was just so ineffective as a story worth telling. Maybe it would have made a better short story in an anthology. At least then I wouldn't have felt I wasted my time.

I sorta almost just saw this. At a friends place and this was picked to be on while we were talking. There was just something about this that made it very hard not to watch. I've no good idea of exactly what happened, but what I did see made me want to seek out this sucker. I kept thinking of the flick 'Gator Bait, which I thought was pretty good.
