Was Interesting

Ok so i didnt' have much in the way of faith in this movie, considering how the last few installments of the series have gone. I spent the beginning assuming Bub was Jed, actually. Since Leatherface is supposed to be mentally handicapped to some degree and he didnt even talk, if for a few words. Was a surprise when it turned out to be Jackson. I know people didn't like that they made the seemingly talkative, good looking guy leatherface but I don't see the problem? He came off as a few short of a full deck as the movie went on. He didn't really do anything 'smart' the entire movie/kidnapping. Mentally impaired to a degree, just not a major one. I mean, at one point at the end the sheriff even calls his mom his aunt? So its a given he's not..stable.

It wasn't a spectacular movie. But i still enjoyed it. I was reading that there was supposed to be a scene where he was with a foster family who wanted a girl so they forced him to cross dress, which would have given more strength to the unstable bit of his personality. It should have been kept in. They could have cut the kidnapping down a bit to make it fit. We didn't really need Ike and Carissa(?) for that long. They had no usefulness to the story except as an escape, since Bub would have just slept on the doctors corpse and Jackson would have just hid.

Either way, 6/10.

Oh wow yes the cross dressing thing would have been smart to leave in. It amazes me whenever movie makers make dumb decisions.

I enjoyed that aspect as well, the making you wonder which one is Leatherface. The first time I watched it I was wondering if I'd missed something, that it wasn't apparent. But cool choice. Because either of the other boys would seem likelier, initially. And I guess that's the point/message. The ones who seem most okay and attractive can still easily be the worst. And agreed about the cross-dressing. Just still too much of a taboo nowadays
