I just had the pleasure of watching both seasons of Derek. I am so pleased at the compassion introduced through Derek's character, alas, through each and every character! For those who do not care for the story line...try to dig deeper within yourself to see the depth of the message the writer is sending. It is of love, patience, kindness, compassion, getting old, care taking, and death. All these things deserve more understanding on our part. I look forward to more seasons of Derek.

I agree, that was really well put, thank you.

This show gave a voice to people who are often ignored, and did so with affection. It gives you a lot to think about in your own life, how you treat people who don't fit into the world so easily, and those who have aged beyond the focus of western culture.

Great show, and I look forward to seeing the special in April.
