Offsite backups (spoilers)

Any business with valuable data (namely a security firm) will invest in offsite backups so that the hard discs they operate inside their main premises are less vulnerable to theft or destruction. So Charlotte torching the primary discs is all well and good but the main data would be accessible elsewhere. And the flash drive would not be the primary MacGuffin for Roger the security guard to recover, more like a red herring. Of course though, Roger was cunning but not particularly bright. So this might not have occurred to him, and it's not like he was that attentive to his job duties anyway.

On another note, did you guys think casting Blake Harrison aka "Neil" from the Inbetweeners as the villain was a mistake as he'll always be known for that lovable idiot comedy role? I couldn't shake that feeling at first, but he did turn up the menace quite well towards the end.

Remember what Roger said. They put up the flats and didn't set up security properly. If it was a well run organisation then there would be off-site backups. But, we're told that it's not a well run organisation.
