'The Virgin Mary...J. Blige' - does anyone think that's funny?

And yet, it's featured in every last commercial. Is THAT supposed to draw anyone in? It's not clever or witty or...anything. And THAT'S the best they got? Holy cow...I cannot imagine what the "lesser" stuff is like.

reply

Yes. And no one is making you watch it.

reply

Hilarious. I can't wait to see it.

Internet Trolls don't get a rise out of people, only sympathy.

What did Madea actually say about Mary? I couldn't understand her

reply

Still haven't got an answer

Apparently, "she's" teaching a Sunday school class about the birth of Jesus and says something about "the virgin Mary (pause)...J. Blige." Like she's fumbling for what to say.

They both have the same name. The mother of the Son of God and an R & B singer. They both have the same name, get it?????????? Get it??? Isn't that hilarious??????

"In space, no one can hear you jizz."

Shut up you whinny Anglo saxophone. Madea is gonna crush Smaug.

I want you to pull my hair, and ravish me, and leave me for dead.

I'm not a tyler perry or madea movie hater or anything, and I'm also not complaining about it because I don't plan on watching it so I don't care, but to answer your title question, no not really. I personally don't find it that funny and I find the "have you heard the joke about the two black dudes and the rabbi?" joke that's on the commercials even less funny. I'm not sure why, but it just sounds kind of "off" the way its delivered. That is just my opinion though, and your original post seems a bit intense, lol.

reply

Tyler Perry has ran that joke in the ground. This isn't the first production he's used it in.

1. Madea Goes to Jail: the Play (2005)
2. I Can Do Bad All By Myself: the Movie (2009)
And Now This.

It was funny the first time but he keeps using it over and over again whenever he mentions Virgin Mary.

The point of that particular joke is to show that the Madea character doesn't go to church. Supposedly she gets Bible stories mixed up.
