Quentin Tarantino

He's leaning towards the James Cameron mentality of "I'm the King of the World" with his crazy director attitude.

Saw him in a press junket where he ate the reporter for lunch. He was arrogant and rude to the reporter. Didn't want to answer his questions. Then his acceptance speech tonight. I know there was humor in there, but also arrogance. What a turn off.

Well I like his movies although Django was not one of my favorites. It is probably hard to not get a bit of an ego when you make films that people love to see, I wish I had that problem ;).

I saw that interview as well and he just didn't want to keep repeating himself on things he talked about at length (violence in movies) and it was understandable.

You were fantastic...absolutely fantastic...and d'you know what? So was I.

Well, he was drunk more than arrogant. Also, I think he was legitimately surprised to win considering how strong his fellow noms were.

Also, I liked how he thanked the "competition" - normally they refer to each other as "fellow nominees", but competition sounds more honest.

He definitely has some kind of personality disorder. Saw him yelling at the British guy who was interviewing him - what a jerk. If he doesn't like the whole press junket machine and everything that goes along with it, he shouldn't be in the entertainment business. I liked Pulp Fiction but I won't pay another dime to go in his pocket.

Just because you make movies doesn't mean you elect to have people follow you around asking repetitive, annoying questions all the time. Frankly, I'm surprised he hasn't beaten any reporters to death after all the stupid questions they ask him.

reply

The interviewer was the real Jerk. Quentin had every right to get mad, the interviewer basically insults him by asking him questions linking his movies to real life violence, in a way, blaming him for the violence that's going on.

reply

So you won't see any of his future films because he refused to answer a reporter's question? If that's your criteria, you have an awful lot of directors to check off on your boycott list.

reply

I think Tarantino has become a hack. He now reuses scores from other movies as a kind of tribute. That's just lazy filmmaking imo.
