Maybe it shouldn't be taken so literally...

I know it's marketed as a horror movie, but the more I think about it, the more I think it really isn't about the devil. It's about women and society's expectation of them. Hannah committed suicide because she was pregnant by her boyfriend, who obviously abandoned her after getting what he wants. That probably explains her animosity towards the baby she was sitting for later.

Leigh was stressed about a lot of things; being one of two left in her family, infertility, and having a job in real estate which isn't easy. It also seems like her relationship with her sister is strained... so it wouldn't be too far-fetched if she did have a heart attack or something relating to her health.

It isn't too far-fetched for Vera to be pregnant by Sam, and not the devil, since this all took place within a week or two's time. The whole "IT'S THE DEVIL!" could be an excuse she's giving for her not to want to birth a baby and have to be responsible for someone else's life.

Or maybe I am just overthinking it. Haha.

Ugh seems like every other horror movie's imdb board has someone suggesting the monsters aren't real and it's really a story of our psychology and societal norms. No, dammit! There's plenty of those "the protagonist was the killer all along" type of movies. Let us enjoy our demonic tales lol
