Now that we've seen the trailer...

Do you fans think they're going to explain the loose ends from the previous installments? I don't believe any interviewer has asked anything remotely close to the missing characters being explained. Nevermind that some of the films weren't as good as the original one, but at the very least I'd expect them to explain what the hell happened. I'll even take a short explanation ala Retribution from Alice (how she explains Jill was captured and brainwashed) so long as she explains their whereabouts or deaths.

It's highly likely that Jill Valentine, Ada Wong, Leon Kennedy and Becky were indeed killed off as we see Alice crawling out of the debris and mess in the burned down White House.

I think we will see a flashback as was hinted in her intro dialogue when we see people in some kind of mountain range vehicle. She will probably kill that flying Kapeo creature early on and then bump into Claire and her gang after that.

Any theories? If Alice is the red Queen, how will that even be explained? Did Doctor Isaacs send out a clone.of himself in Extinction to retrieve the sample of Alice's blood and went into hiding to monitor from a safe distance?

So many questions... I'm sure the film will be good, but my hopes aren't too high for them explaining what happened to everyone else and the White Queen subplot.

Also, Claire could easily explain what happened to Chris and KMart I think.

My biggest question is if they are going to adress the Ashford family, Angies father created the T-Virus, the Red Queen is based on Angie, both Angie and Alice had a conection when they meet, so... is Angie the same person as Alice? is Angie a clone?

Also Becky could be a somewhat clone of Angie or viceversa all this are little blond girls.

Well I think they're gonna just sweep that under the carpet by just letting us imply that Ashford was ONE of the Umbrella scientists that created the TVirus. So instead of adressing Ashford alone, they're probably not going to mention it. As far as Angie and Becky being clones of each other, I very much doubt it because they simply looking nothing alike. At this point Angie (the actress has grown considerably), and I think would make a better surprise villain to combat Alice and Claire. I would love that! The actress is beautiful and she's a good actress too! I don't want to see her exorcist film though lol.

If I am going to be honest, I am not going to worry about having things answered. I am just going to shut off my brain and enjoy a couple of hours of explosions and zombies. I love these films. Lol.

I'm being realistic when I say this - they WON'T tie up all loose ends because history suggests that some subplots/questions will be left unresolved. As much as I love the 'Resident Evil' movies, the stories are not consistently strong and character development can be lacking at times. However, I expect to receive an explanation on the fates of missing characters because it's the final movie. Even a sentence or two would suffice! It would be a bonus if Chris, Jill, Leon, and Ada make a surprise cameo but when it comes to both Angela and Becky, I would settle with a mention. They can't leave their fates unaddressed because I would hate to debate forever about what may have happened to them.

I shared an idea here months ago about how they could resolve Angela's whereabouts - a scene involves Alice and the gang walking in the streets of Raccoon City when they approach the Raccoon City Junior School. Alice suggests that they go inside to search for any survivors and everyone goes separate ways. Alice walks past a notice board with photos of students attached above their listed achievements and she notices a photo of Angela Ashford. A tear streams down Alice's cheek as guilt starts to overwhelm her. When she touches the photo, a flashback occurs (the one that was removed from the script). A catatonic Alice is standing in front of both Jill and Angela who are on their knees, held captive by Umbrella soldiers. Dr. Isaacs is on the phone with Wesker when he receives orders that Angela must be put down because her value is deemed as unworthy. He instructs Alice to shoot Angela and she kills her in cold blood. Jill delivers a deafening scream as she leans over a lifeless Angela who lies in a pool of blood. The flashback concludes. I know it won't happen but seeing something like that happen would be good!

I'll be approaching the final movie with low expectations because I don't trust Sony/Jeremy Bolt and I fear that the script was cut into shreds for the sake of having a shorter runtime. I really hope that we'll have a satisfying conclusion because it would be gutting if the franchise ends with a whimper.

that scenee sounds good but too dark for this type of movies, I think Milla have a big No when it comes to script and her role in the movies, she said on a night show she didn't wanted to spend a movie with another partner just to be the lone star.

and I doubt Milla would like to be seen killing children in her own franchise.

What I can expect about Angie is she died because she didn't had enough vaccine, she became weak and Jill and Alice had to separate after Angie died, like she just became ill. Not dramatic death or gory.

Honestly I would prefer if K-Mart was grow up Angie and for the person who said Becky and Angie are not look alike, well they can just do a recast since that's what they did with Wesker.

All this blond girls should been the same character to avoid this type of problems.

Angie- K-Mart then Becky shouldn't exist or K-Mart finds Becky and remembers herself idk, but all turn out to be Alice's younger versions that's why she have a strong bond with them and why not let K-Mart have bad ass powers lol.

Terrible, idea...worse than Anderson. I'm sorry, but just no with that kind of lazy writing.

This is a great idea and it works, without the virus poor Angie couldn't even walk, without the virus she would have a miserable life and i think she would be ill.

The only loose ends they'll tie up is Umbrella Corps and Alice's background. Other than that, it might be up in the air.

Based on the trailer and what we know, in regards to the Old Alice and the Umbrella meeting, I'm sure we'll know Alice's story and how Umbrella is involved.

I do hope they at least mention Chris, Ada, Leon and Jill (if they don't make a cameo).

I hope not, that would be very anti-climatic.. making the "greatest villain" of the franchise a clone and leaving the final battle with a copy-cat.. I hope it's his angry brother or something.. also do you remember the picture of Ian with a rosary, I wonder how that fits into the story?... maybe a flashback?.. or he's related to Alice as well?

reply

I guess his brother would be another good option, but I'd rather the other have been a clone of himself. It makes more sense because afterall cloning started with himself, it wouldn't be past him to do that.

Iain Glen was spotted wearing a cross necklace on set, and it is interesting to note that Dr. Isaacs carries a knife that has the Biblical verse 'For the wages of sin is death' engraved on the blade (as seen in the teaser).

LMAO... how did you even notice that?.. 

Then that's the confirmation that there's not two Doctors in this movie and the villain is the religious one... maybe there's a flashback on his story as well.
