Anyone reading the books? I'm on Extinction now.
When I picked up a copy of The Final Chapter by Tim Waggoner I decided I better start from the start with Resident Evil: Genesis by Keith R.A. DeCandido. Wow that first one blew me away. Resident Evil: Gensis was the first novel I've read that was as good as the movie. But wow...did things take a dip in quality with the Resident Evil: Apocalypse novel. I'm just surprised how less exciting and interesting Resident Evil: Apocalypse was compared to the Resident Evil: Genesis novel. If you like Genesis I wouldn't really bother reading Apocalypse...ESPECIALLY if you have already seen the film. Resident Evil: Apocalypse by Keith R.A. DeCandido was not as great as I was hoping it would be and honestly the fans can take a pass on this novelization in the series. It was too short and I didn't like how DeCandido didn't expand on ANYTHING from Apocalypse like He did in Genesis.
I'm really liking Extinction so far though. DeCandido is really building on the story and characters from Apocalypse which I like. The book looks a little longer too which is good. I'm a quarter of the way threw so I'll post when I'm done. I'm really liking it though!!
What was your guys thoughts on the movie novel series for RE? Did it do justice for the films?
