Were Jill, Chris, Ada, Leon even mentioned in this?

I don't recall it.

reply

No.

Take moments of happiness where you can; the world will take the rest.

reply

Not even a single mention. Nothing.

reply

No which is a massive shame. They should have at least had a quick cameo with them at the end in another survival camp somewhere else in America as the antivirus was spreading throughout. Even a mention from the red queen acknowledging their existence somewhere else where they would also die too by the time limit.

reply

Not by name, but Jill, Ada and Leon are dead. Or at the very least Wesker thinks they are dead, since he also thought Alice died there.

Observe:

During the recap:

Finally, the last and best hope of humanity, gathered and took a last stand in Washington DC.

But we didn't realize that what we had walked into was a trap.

Later the Red Queen:

He led you all here to Washington. He pretended to give you your powers back.

And then, he betrayed you (plural?).

Isaacs lets know Wesker that Alice is alive:

- Look what I found on the roadside. It would appear your mission to Washington was less successful than you made out.
- Impossible.
- I hope you didn't leave any other loose ends.

Translation: "Okay Alice is alive, I hope at least the rest are dead as you claimed them (all) to be, Wesker!"

Later, Wesker tells Alice:

I should have killed you in Washington.

Translation: I shouldn't have led you in a trap hoping you would die, I should have killed you with my own hands, to make sure of it, because unlike the others you survived!

Also:

The recap at the beginning shows footage of several characters that have appeared throughout the series, including the newly introduced in RE5 Becky, Ada, Barry and Leon (and credits their actors in the end credits), but doesn't show a single frame of Jill and Chris. Jill can be accounted as one of the presumed dead since she was with the others in Washington, but Chris? The fact Claire doesn't mention him at all, and Alice doesn't ask about him, combined with the fact they didn't show him in the recap, points to Anderson considering much of the RE4 & 5 storylines unimportant and erased from his mind. (Also think: Wesker doesn't have powers in this, and the Red Queen is far removed from her RE5 persona; she's far more chatty, like in the original film).

BTW, Anderson made sure during the recap where he shows Washington under attack to show only zoomed out shots, where none of the actors appear any more. The appearance of Ada and Leon was in other scenes during the recap. By not showing them there, never calling them by name ("the last and best hope of humanity" instead), and never explaining what exactly the trap was, he hopes you forget about them.
