I give up.

I'm 4 episodes in (watching in the UK) and I've had enough of this series.

I started off liking it as an undemanding watch, but every episode I've seen has followed a similar pattern: they get chased around a city, the girl does something nice for someone despite Tate's protests, they get caught only for Bo to unleash one of her powers, and off they go again into next week.

The idea of not knowing what Bo is capable of means that they are never in serious jeopardy. There's always something in her bag of tricks, and that's unsatisfying, a bit lazy, and cheating the audience I think.

trust us, it gets worse.

Thanks a lot artcurus, now I have to keep watching it to see how they manage to make it worse!

reply

make sure there's nothing next to the tv that's heavy and throwable, flat screen tvs are expensive to replace ;-)

reply

lol! Seriously. Every time I explain the stupid show and everything wrong with it to somebody, they always get a little worried because they've never seen me so angry. For real. Just talking about the show literally raises my blood pressure.

reply

Actually it does get better, not worse. Simply look at the increase in positive reviews over the past few episodes! Almost all shows start out like this and deal with a slow beginning.

Never go to IMDB for reasonable reviews of a tv series. IMDB is a place for people to be trolls and piss on everything.

Not exactly Lauren, look at shows such as House and more recently, Sleepy Hollow, which I absolutely can't wait to restart in the Fall. Both have won awards or at least been noted for writing and production in some fashion. They were riveting from the start, with good, consistent storylines, and pacing enough to keep you interested.

I've already laid out specifically why this show is failing with logical reasons.

Believe shouldn't be mentioned in the same thread as those two shows. Completely opposite sides of the spectrum. Two are fantastic. One is clearly not. Guess which one.

I think this show improves with every episode. I guess it isn't for everyone but I love it and can't wait till Sundays for it to come on.

I think I like the show for the characters, finding out the stories behind them and leading up to a big picture that starts with just glimpses. The episodes where Bo focuses on helping someone or they're on the run are just filler in between the juicy stuff. It is kind of like fringe in that way.

I held out a little longer but I'm really not enjoying this show. It's the same episode over and over again. Bo gets agitated about something, Tate refuses to comply, she runs off on her own and does it anyway. Repeat nine episodes. And sorry telekinesis and clairvoyance are one thing but this show would have you believe (no pun intended) that she can access DMV records instantly with her mind, input a license plate number with her mind, and have all the information printed out with her mind all in the span of about 10 seconds. The ratings have stopped dropping by a lot but they're not coming back up very much either. Right now they're still pretty low. Hoping it gets cancelled. It's what it deserves.

The DMV scene was actually amusing and closer to being believable.

The bigger question is why the hell does Skouras need Bo after finding Dani? Dani is far more dangerous and more powerful than Bo.

I'm giving up too! It just kills me how stupid every episode is becoming! Very weak writing and direction! I think the writers are just lazy. This show is headed to the chopping block. I wanted to give it a chance but each new episode just makes it clear it's hopeless. The show is similar in premise to Touch but Touch was 100 times better than this! Please, just cancel it already!

You are right but, as I get into it, the bond and character development gets better especially between Tate and Bo. It is the same formula week after week which makes it easy to watch and if it gets canceled I won't mourn either.

I give up after the second episode and I admit I'm furious for wasting my time watching it. This show seams it was written by and for retards. Awful!
