I have enjoyed all of Waititi's films to date although he has yet to make a great one - maybe this will be the one. I am looking forward to it, although the underwhelming trailer did not fill me with confidence. We'll see...
shareSee I think Boy, What We Do In The Shadows and Hunt for the Wilderpeople are ALL great films, but can see how that might be a subjective thing. Especially since they are all set in New Zealand, so there's that familiarity for me already. I didn't see his Thor film though, not really a Marvel fan..
I do think he's unquestionably talented though, and his dry delivery as an actor just really cracks me up. Funny, funny man.
I liked and admired them all, including his Thor movie - I'm not really a Marvel fan either, but his light touch made this one one of the more pleasurable of the endless series.
I enjoyed his performance in Boy, too - he was very funny, great delivery as you say. I'm not convinced by his casting himself in Jojo Rabbit, but time will tell.
I LOVE New Zealand, by the way. I have only visited once, last year, and am desperate to get there again one of these days.
Yeah for me I think him casting himself as Hitler is hilarious, I mean you couldn't get anyone who is less Hitler-like than this cheeky Maori dude from NZ. It's ridiculous, which seems perfect for the film when you read the synopsis. I have high hopes.
Yeah, New Zealand is a beautiful country for sure. I lived there for 10 years before moving home to Australia recently. I have a lot of affection for the country and people, it's like my second home.
I know a guy who Doesn't live in NZ or Australia. He's a Tassie. I have to remind myself of this because I always want to put him in Zealand.
