This felt like a mix between Django Unchained and I don't know what.

It was too over the top in the Christian message and seemed too simplistic to really do much to honor black Americans. Hard to take it seriously but the production values were pretty good. Very odd film.

What hump? 

Yeah, strange is the perfect word to describe it. But I do applaud the effort at trying something unique creatively. I'm not a big musical fan but I found the music here surprisingly effective. Still, an odd movie.
