1.03. Replay's depiction of cop racism

Would in reality a white cop really come up to two decent black people and pester and harass them in that way? While no doubt racism in US exists, this looked more like an SS guard in Auschwitz roughing up Jews. Is the depiction correct or is the cop racism more subtle and nuanced in reality?

I'm not American but what I think alleys needs to be asked is why do the cops over there feel so vulnerable? I'm not taking a shot at the cops either there must be a reason for how they feel. I also don't see it as a racist thing either as non white cops are also quick to shoot. The other year a black cop shot an Australian woman for example. Why did he feel she was a threat?

In regards to the TZ Ep, I think the real Twilight Zone opportunity was missed or sacrificed completely for the sake of a BLM rant.

She becomes more and more suspicious with her behaviour. Offering to buy the cop a slice of pie, wanting to shake his hand that is suspicious behaviour regardless of how pure the intentions may be.

An interesting story would be how she brings about her own demise.

Maybe 50 or 60 years ago..otherwise I can't imagine any cop just harassing a wholesome looking mother and son unless someone with a similar profile had just committed an armed robbery or something. But then he wouldn't just be harassing them then, would he?
The approach is disingenuous and you just have to wonder what they think this sort of story telling accomplishes..Maybe they wish it were 50 or 60 years ago?

I thought there was going to be a plot twist and at the end we'd learn the cop was mixed, he had a parent or grandparents that were black, and he hated that side of himself that he was acting more racist than the average white racist, but there was no plot twist. The cop looked mixed to me, though.

I'm just gonna assume by "decent black people" you meant not actively committing a crime. That being said, while police harassment isn't happening to every person of color constantly, it definitely happens on a daily basis in this country. Though I think the George Floyd murder and current protest already answered this thread far better than anyone could
