It's more on par with the 2000s series.

So yeah, forget about comparing it to the original.

I think one of the biggest problems is the episode lengths. Twilight Zone is a half-hour show...end of story. If you want to make it an hour, just have two half-hour episodes back to back. It's not a coincidence that the most lowly rated of the original episodes come from Season 4 when the show adopted an hour-long format.
