Only made 50 millions at the box office?

It was made on a 3.3 million production budget, so that alone makes it very profitable. Dunno, maybe if it went for a wider release, it would have broken through its shoestring budget, who knows...

Well, something being popular on certain parts of the internet doesn't always translate to box office success, especially during a movie's theatrical run, as you've said.
It did do well though, considering its measly budget.

To me personally, this movie was not an enjoyable experience.
It was interesting, but not something I'd go out to watch.

What you thought this going make Avengers money.

Surprised it made that much.

This movie was mainly intended for the arthouse circuit. Based on its modest budget, it is a smashing success. And it has grown in popularity years after it was released.
