Loved 'Whiplash'. Really disliked 'La La Land'

I love Damien Chazelle as a writer and a director. 'Whiplash' was my favourite film of 2015. 'La La Land' is loved by both critics and audiences alike. What happened here?

"What happened here" a lot of people have different opinion than you that's what.

They are both brilliant films for different reasons. Whiplash is more tense while LLL is a more relaxed love story.

I'm with you.

Whiplash was a marvelous depiction of the suffering some are willing to undergo in dedication to their art.

La La Land was basically just Hollywood masturbating to its own image.

Were you afraid that if you liked a musical like La La Land that it would make you gay? Lots of straight guys hate musicals for that reason.

lol. Whiplash is such a manly movie that I see why they'd be put off by LLL. I'm not a musical fan and I still loved it.
