Brilliant!!!
Old school British humour with a legendary cast. Jokes and mannerisms were hilarious, some will not "get" the jokes as it might not fall into their usual American imported soaps. Already set the box to record the series.

shareI set the series record before it started. Definitely won't be deleting it. I don't watch many sitcoms but will be watching this one every week.
shareCosign, this was hilarious.
Only current show to make me laugh this much is Curb Your Enthusiasm.
It's spelled "cosine", you ninny!

I think, the poster meant to write "consign", as in "seconded", "confirmed".
I laughed my ass off. Love this show.
shareI enjoyed it, I am not fond of the old school set piece type of comedy but the charm of the leads just cannot be ignored.
I love how they take from real life as well, with taking the P out of where they come from.....
If you love Satan and are 100% proud of it copy this and make your signature!
Because of the great cast I looked forward to this. Despite the efforts of McKellen in particular the very lame script and dire, repetitive jokes made watching it a disappointing experience. Early days; it might improve and McKellen is always worth watching.
shareI must have been watching a different show to the main reviewer ( not xdav)
I thought this show excellent, the acting was great, ok some of the writing was a little "low" but apart from that looking forward to more.
Ditto: the jokes aren't particularly original or subtle, but watching McKellen and Jacobi while they gamely make fun of themselves is quite enjoyable...
shareSame here. The on-screen interaction between McKellen and Jacobi make this show. They aren't afraid to laugh at themselves and that's refreshing to see from two such actors. It's rare to find a sitcom that makes me laugh and smile. McKellen and Jacobi playing a couple of bitter old queens - fabulous!
