Could this be a haunted house movie?

The poster that I saw makes me wonder if this is a ghostie film.

I saw a sneak preview last night. Answer: no

Spoil it please! Thank you in advance.

Not a haunted house movie.. Saw a screening the other day.. Think more The Shining and Jason....

How was it like the movie?? Could it be considered a good thriller??? How was Naomi Watts in it?? Was it an indie movie or big-midium budget movie??

reply

Naomi Watts was OK. This was a TV movie for me. Small budget. It wasn't bad, but it wasn't very good. The trailer somehow edited together all the "scare" bits, and even made it look supernatural somehow. *SPOILER* its not.
I would not watch it again, but its something like my mom would enjoy. Not too-violent drama-thriller.
Keep in mind I saw this almost a year ago... so lower your expectations based on that.
For me its the kind of movie you could watch late at night if it comes on TV and you're bored.
Sorry if this is all a buzzkill for you.
I made sure to let them know this when I filled out the audience rating form. Maybe they did re-shoots and tightened it up a bit?

reply

I saw it a few months ago and felt exactly the same. Naomi was good but the movie very mediocre. The audience laughed at the ludicrous ending.

it rubs the lotion on its skin or else it gets the hose again

audience test screening? Mine was in October 2015. If yours was, that *really* shows they didn't know what to do with it. That Jacob Tremblay kid has got to be looking much older now.

reply

I just saw it in regular screening. The film is not a haunted house film but circa 16 year old disabled (Naomi's) son in wheelchair who is the real scary person....the disappearing kid is just a ten year old who is no threat, just as most/worst a mystery, that's all.(none as to why it's out of theatres...:) sorry, I could not resist ha ha)
