Why was Rachel so moved by the film?

I genuinely didn't get why Rachel was so much by the film? Was there some deep, hidden meaning in those visuals that I failed to pick up? Coz all I saw was their faces followed by some stop-motion animation. Anybody?

It won no Oscars. In fact, the Oscar nominations won't be announced for another three or four months.

The same reason why MADISON was hurrying him to finish the film: The content never mattered. It was meant to be a gesture to a friend. RACHEL was moved because she saw that he took the time film all that.

I know the faces portion was a reference to the Andy Warhol films, I figured she was moved by seeing the intimate faces of all the people who cares for her.

It exacerbated her unbearable pain even further. Made her think about how pointless and futile everything was and how you cannot enjoy anything you love when youre in pain and know that you ll be dead soon.

I'm not sure if her facial expressions indicate whether or not she was moved. I mean, you could see your face as moved or as tragic. I think that an interesting thing the film does is not blatently reveal her emotions at the moment so we are left to make guesses about how she felt at that time. If you think she was moved, then so be it, but personally, I don't think her emotions were so set it stone.

I think she liked it because it was made for her.
It didn't matter if the video they made was good or bad.
And she was simply grateful they made that for her.

I think this, plus the fact that she had a lot invested in him, like wanting him to move on and be his fullest self, and the fact that he actually created something, instead of mimicking what already existed, with her as his muse, brought closure to what she wanted for him. She could die knowing that he was going to be alright.

That's a really insightful take on it, and I agree = provisionally. I'll have to see it again, as I had just woken up from a nap when I saw it, and I missed the first part.

Still.....what you said feels right, and I think it is.

Well said!

Because she knew this was the last thing she was going to see. The last important thing, at least. Like the other posters said, it didn't matter what the film contained, whether it was good or bad. This was the last thing about her, done for her in this world.

Never be complete.

If two of my friends made a film in honour of me, filled with things they knew I'd appreciate, then I'd be pretty emotional too - regardless of its objective 'quality'... It's about personal connection.
