Do you think there will be a sequel?

What is everyone's thought on the possibility of a sequel? I personally loved the way it ended. it was hopeful and inspirational and leaves the future of the characters in the viewers hands and imagination.I'm not sure it needs a sequel

I agree with your sentiments completely. I wanted it to go on and on but I got the ending I wanted. Many are saying it was too predictable and convenient, but I don't care because I absolutely loved it.

I agree. They captured a moment in time. No one knows what the future holds, that's left to the viewers. So I don't think it's too tied together in a neat package

Indeed. Plus that's how life is in general. nothing ever gets tied up neatly in the real world.

I would actually be fine if this was indeed it. The shot of Richie resting his head on Pato's shoulder was good enough for me! :-)

Maybe in a decade, Haigh may pull a Richard Linklater and do a "Before Sunset" sort of follow up.

Without you, today's emotions would be the scurf of yesterday's.

I don't think it needs a sequel, it certainly did a great job of wrapping things up while leaving room for the future, but I would love one.

An uneventful one, at that, I would just love to see more of these characters. I don't need any drama, would just enjoy seeing them living their lives. Especially Patrick and Richie. Their relationship was the epitome of what relationships actually feel like in reality and I felt like we did not get to experience enough of that with them, so I would love to see just how they continue to build their relationship now that it's been rekindled romantically. Like someone else here said, maybe in 10 years we'll get it as a special project by Andrew and Michael, like Linklater's "Before [fill in]" movie series.

I loved the movie, but I definitely do not want a sequel. The story ended well and I don't want it to be like Sex and the City--where I loved the series and thought it ended well, but I absolutely LOATHED the SATC movie (didn't even bother seeing the second one).

Sometimes, you have to know when to end things, even if some people want more.

And I don't like fan fiction, but many people do--so you're welcome to write your own fanfic to continue the story on the way you want it to.

fan fiction can't replace canon.

I write it, I read it, I love it, but it doesn't.

If Andrew and Michael were behind the sequel, I believe it would be a good continuation of the body of work that is Looking, just like this movie was a good wrap for the series. True, you have to know when to quit. I wouldn't want them to start mess-producing Looking sequels. But one, maybe 5 or 10 years down the road? I would love that. I would love to see Patrick and Richie's life together, Dom happy... Agustin and Eddie maybe struggling with some issues (I feel like generally speaking, we have seen them deal with minor set backs, but no major ones. So that would be interesting). Yeah, I would just love to spend more time with these characters.

I'd really love to see a sequel because I would have liked to see more of Agustin's and Dom's storyline, and I'd also like to see what happens with Patrick & Richie finally in a long-term relationship. I think there's a lot of story to be mined with their families, their desire for marriage and children, etc. HBO cut this off way too soon.

And I think all of the cast is willing, but...

I think at this point in his career, and given his attitude towards the experience of working in TV in his interviews, getting Andrew Haigh to do another one would be a miracle. I was surprised they even got him to do this one and I think he probably only did it out of loyalty to the characters and the rest of the cast/crew.

They could do it with another director -- the show had other directors -- but it's hard to beat the dream team.
