Ending Ruins The Movie

If there was an armed camp just a few minutes walk from the forest then why was the old woman and the girl so desperate to hook up with the dumb survivalist? The survivalist himself could have just walked over to the camp, donate the seeds and live in comfort for the rest of his life. The old woman could have prostituted the girl to get in there too instead of trying to live on a farm with food for only one person.

Silly ending.

I wouldn't say a few minute. As you can see it went from day to night and day. A person can go quite a while without food also so I'm sure she didn't stop 6 hours after to find food. The camp could of been there and she didn't know about it cause she hasn't ventured that way. Besides the guy as been living there for 7 years in the woods, that camp could of been new. She's three months into it, her attempted abortion was probably was probably during the first 6 weeks after she missed her period. So a lot of time passed by. Did you even watch the movie or was it a little too complex for you to understand? So it wasn't done in crayons in a kid friendly book.

I live in the smallest state, even with a car, I haven't even seen my entire state yet. It could happen.

Your dumb response is predictable: you just started to make up things and pretended it was in the movie. How do you know the camp was new? How do you know she and the old lady wasn't wandering around for a long time when they could have easily found it? In a single scene the girl was walking and in the next she came upon the camp, not a single time lapse indicated that days had gone by so stop making crap up you idiot.

Go back to watching Transformers, retard.

I got the impression that the armed camp was at least a couple of days walk away. Possibly more. Could have been couple of weeks away.

Totally agree, BUT remember that the camp votes whether they'll let someone in. The film is set in a time of starvation. It is implied that there aren't enough resources for everyone, hence they cannot all live happily together; they have to choose who's gonna be in the community and who's gonna be a pariah. Even if he donated the seeds, it might be possible that it wouldn't be enough for everyone to live together (they had to feed babies who would grow to be kids, etc.)
Despite this rationalisation I made, because I had the exact thought with you, I also believe that the ending was silly, and the film had no other point than to present the creator's grim, misanthropic take on humanity - perhaps also for shock value.

They might not have found it. The survivalist might have known about it as they raided camps themselves so they might be blacklisted. If they were going to join then presumably they would not have lived alone. He was actually doing ok on his own.

The old lady might not be able to prostitute her way in. Since they vote and don't just let everyone in one must ask what has she got to offer? There is a disabled girl with a baby there and presumably that is hers so they will carry dead weight but she can procreate. That old lady cannot and will be a burden in the near future. I sure as hell would not let a pimp in my camp.

Not sure how far that place was from them - they could have probably indicated better time lapse.
