CGI > Anime

Am I the only person on the internet that is glad that they opted for CGI over Anime?

No offense, but there are hundreds of anime out there, and high quality CGI animations, so far, has only been used for feature length, high budget animations. All other CGI series are of low quality with stiff animations.
This is actually the first time we get to see high quality, near Pixar-like, CGI in an animated series. It's never been done before. I think, while it has it's flaws in the repetition of backgrounds and certain sequences, it's a pretty solid package and a refreshing change in the animated series industry which will hopefully catch on.

If this series had been hand-drawn, I probably never would have cared to watch it, labeling it off as just one of hundreds of anime.

You're definitely not the only person. I have heard that one of the reasons they picked CGI is because it is more popular. I preferred the anime look before actually watching an episode of the real show, but now that I'm into the show I really like the CGI animation style. I think it's cool that they're supposedly going to do an anime OVA for it too, so we get the best of both worlds!

Don't get me wrong, the CGI is great in this show from the little I've seen, however even great CGI can't really hold a candle to unique and well produced anime.

The CGI gives a distinctly childish feel to the show, it feels too well rounded and it feels "pre-packaged" and smooth, like they didn't want to risk doing anything that might upset an audience, and within taking no risks, they lost out on creating anything groundbreaking...
